SOUL. My Time With A True Healer.

Most everyone has heard the statistics on the hours it takes to become a master at something. Go to any professional orchestral concert, or watch the Olympics, or taste a meal from a skilled cook. It has taken thousands of hours for them to arrive at that point to sharpen their instinct and perception as well as have that “muscle memory.” I have often wondered, what would this look like in a doctor?

Enter Dr. Robin DiPasquale, naturopathic doctor in Fort Collins, Colorado. She graduated from my same medical school, but about thirty years earlier. Robin has been dedicated to her craft and her patients for decades. She was a teacher of mine in school, and we immediately connected with a love of plants, Italy and for a shared healing spirit that really cares. I reached out to her to see if she would be open to a longer time of me shadowing and apprenticing with her, and her response: “You are welcome as long as you would like, Casey.”

While I thought I was there to learn and deepen in modalities of botanical medicine, homeopathy and even some acupuncture channels, I walked away with so much more than just tools. I walked away watching what a skilled doctor and healer looks like to care for the patients that have come to trust her fully over the years together. Robin’s spirit and intention for each of her patients is a modality to not be underestimated, and are true healing forces that her patient’s feel an effect of. Beyond her wide and experienced skillset and clear calling to her work and patients, Robin goes there with those that come to her. She asks the questions patients may not have even considered to be a connection, and may not have an answer for yet. Healing begins when awareness starts.

I would like to specifically call out a service Robin facilitates that I wish more knew about: Family Constellation Therapy. It takes place in a small group setting aimed at revealing family dynamics, both past and present, that may have an impact on present day realities. While considered more energetic and perhaps a bit “woo",” I know I have really opened up to this work since my first time being introduced to it in 2021. Alongside Robin, I watched many people experience a profound impact on their lives through realizations, clarity and deeper healing that were unaddressed in the family system. Weeks later I would hear a patient say, “So much has shifted” in one way or another.

While I am still trying to figure out what replenishes Robin’s well of generosity extended to myself, her patients and all who come into contact with her, all I can tell you is that it exists with clear strength and purpose. She is a woman of both knowledge and wisdom, and one I am so grateful to have had such precious time with her.
